For the creation of ferrochromium we utilize an aluminothermic reaction. For this process we generate aluminum granules to fuel the production of the ferrochromium. To create granules, high quality Al scrap is meltded which creates a free-flowing aluminum granule. The table below illustrates our typical composition.
MM Metals USA's aluminium plant produces granules and sows. The granules are either used for ferrochromium production, in which case we store them in silos on site, or they are moved to Supersacks to be sold for use in a wide array of different applications.
We also produce aluminum sows. Our sows are approved at the world’s largest rolling mills and extrusion facilities, and they are available for sale for use in a wide variety of applications in the global aluminium industry.
